Apple’s beloved iPhone SE is geared to get updates this year with a twist though. Yes, in atypical two years gap, strangely! You see, the current generation SE design is based on the iPhone 8 from 2017. And if speculations from @dylandkt are to be taken, the 2022 iPhone SE is purported to feature the same old design. In a typical fashion, there will be a spec bump or boost given.
Heavily expected are 5G connectivity and the mighty A15 Bionic chipset for blazing-fast performance.
*Update to this tweet!* The iPhone SE with a similar design to the XR/11 with a slightly smaller screen size, has been pushed back to an expected release of 2024. For 2022, Apple will instead release an iPhone SE with 5G, a spec bump, and the same design as the 2020 model.

Earlier, the same source claimed that the 2022 iPhone SE would feature a design similar to that of the vanilla iPhone 11 albeit with a smaller display to boot. Also reported was the inclusion of a Touch ID sensor that too embedded in the power button much like on the iPad mini 6 and iPad Air 4. However, in an interesting twist, these modern changes have been pushed back to the year 2024.
As for our opinion with regards to the upcoming changes this year with the iPhone SE 2022, we doubt if it could make an impact on the masses as the current gen SE. Wouldn’t it be better for Apple to just give the SE a modern makeover this year? C’mon Apple, its high time now!
