WhatsApp seems to be busy cooking up new privacy features lately. According to the WABetaInfo, sooner than later, the users of the Facebook-owned app will be allowed to hide their last seen status from specific contacts. This is similar to one of the three privacy settings available for status updates where one can hide the same from specified contacts.
Currently, one has the option to either show their last seen to everyone, only to contacts or hide it all together from everyone. Coming back to the point, keep in mind that, hiding the last seen from specific contacts also does not allow you to view their last seen timestamps either, which is self-explanatory.
This privacy update will extend to the profile photo and the about section too which is a good thing, nonetheless. These features are still under development and testing. WhatsApp for iOS beta users should expect it first in the near future with an official rollout not too far away either.
